Dear SJS Community,
Scripture quote for the day: No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the Lord’s servants, and their righteousness is of me. – Isaiah 54:17
After my email yesterday evening I was informed that we have three members of our school community who have contracted the Coronavirus. There are two parents and the husband of one of our teachers. Please remember them in your thoughts and prayers. Also, if you, or if anyone you know in our school community is in need, for any reason, please contact me so that we may offer any help or service we may be able to provide as a community.
There’s no shortage of terminology being used nowadays that doesn’t convey anxiety, pessimism, and weakness. I know it’s a lot easier to type this than to practice it with my own children and family, but I am doing it every day.
There is a strong relationship between the words that we use and the direct impact they have on our positive or negative reactions. Our words have an impact on our attitude, and of course, the attitude of our students.
I remind you of the affirmation for the weak and I ask you to make sure your students repeat it:
I AM CONFIDENT, CAPABLE, AND ENERGETIC AS I PURSUE MY GOALS.
Have a great day!
